How Guyanese Swag verifies community information.

Guyanese Swag is building a useful discovery platform, not a pay-to-play database. Our goal is to make information easier to find while being clear about where it came from, what has been verified, and what still needs confirmation.

OFFICIAL SOURCE

Published by the responsible institution

Used for government, consular, scholarship, procurement and other information where an official agency, institution or issuing organization provides the primary source.

OWNER VERIFIED

Confirmed by the business or organizer

The owner, authorized representative or organizer has confirmed the profile information. This does not mean Guyanese Swag endorses the business, service or event.

RESEARCHED LISTING

Built from credible public information

Many Directory records are researched before an owner claims them. We document a source and a last-checked date where possible so visitors can evaluate the information.

UNCLAIMED

The owner has not claimed the profile

An unclaimed profile can still be useful and researched, but the business or organization has not yet confirmed that the listing is managed by them.

OUR PROCESS

Different information requires different verification.

Directory

We look for a verifiable Guyanese connection and credible evidence that the business, professional, organization, creator or service exists. Sources can include official websites, business associations, registries, reputable media and other public evidence.

Events

We prioritize the organizer, venue, ticketing/registration source or another direct event source. Dates change quickly, so event profiles include a last-checked date where available.

Opportunities

Jobs, scholarships, grants, tenders and vendor calls should point to the issuing organization or official application source. Expired deadlines are automatically removed from active discovery.

Practical resources

For government procedures, travel guidance, registrations and other high-consequence information, we prefer the responsible government agency or institution as the primary source.

The Guyanese Edit

Editorial stories should cite sources appropriate to the subject. When a topic is contested or still developing, the article should distinguish verified facts from claims, analysis and historical interpretation.

Community submissions

Submissions are leads, not automatic publication. We may verify ownership, dates, URLs, location, Guyanese connection and other factual details before publishing or updating a record.

PAID VISIBILITY

Promotion does not buy verification.

Businesses and organizations may pay for additional reach through featured placement, promoted events, opportunity visibility, sponsorships or campaigns. Payment does not determine whether factual information is considered verified and does not guarantee favorable editorial treatment.

Where a placement is sponsored or promoted, the experience should make that additional visibility identifiable to visitors.
